My earliest memories are cooking in the kitchen with my mom, stirring lemon curd for lemon meringue pies. Growing up in the Midwest we had acres of not just vegetable gardens, but flowers and fruit trees and spent the summer months canning and making jam. Food and family and showing love through food is in my very soul. Through all my career changes and pivots, life and love and food were always wrapped up together. Having married my high school sweetheart, we moved to Seattle to start our careers and raise our family. Always up for an adventure, when we had a chance to live abroad, we snatched the opportunity. Our travels were filled with great food and going to small farmer’s markets across Europe. We took cooking classes and learned to cook food from different cultures along the way. Everywhere we travelled were amazing desserts!

We returned from Europe further grounded in celebrating life with friends through food.  I started a small catering company and cooked and baked everything myself. I loved creating intimate vignettes, whether the celebration was for just a few couples, or a hundred of their closest friends. Fast forward to the pandemic, we had sadly watched as our favorite small spots started disappearing one by one. “If we could save just one of these favorite gathering places, these places are the fabric of our communities” it would be worth all the hard work. So, with the encouragement of our grown children we found ourselves the new owners of this little bakery so loved by so many.

I live with my husband, Jeff, our beloved golden retriever, Max and our, crazy GSP Jameson. We have two grown children and yes, they are both fabulous cooks and bakers too. Our down time is spent with our pups, going for long walks and cooking. We used to have a garden full of peonies, roses, and herbs, but now we have a bakery. We still cook and share food with friends and there are no strangers at our table. All are welcome here. Life is good.
